Your Pregnancy roadmap.

Tap to view appointments and milestones by trimester

A gentle guide to the common appointments and milestones along the way. Exact timing varies by provider — use this as a companion to your prenatal care, not a replacement for it.

First Trimester · Weeks 1–12

Week 8–10

First prenatal visit

Initial bloodwork, dating ultrasound, and confirming your estimated due date with your provider.

Week 10–13

Genetic screening (optional)

NIPT blood test and/or nuchal translucency scan if you choose to screen for chromosomal differences.

Second Trimester · Weeks 13–27

Week 16–20

Quad screen (optional)

Blood test that screens for neural tube and chromosomal differences if you didn't do NIPT.

Week 18–22

Anatomy scan

Detailed ultrasound of baby's organs, growth, and — if you want to know — sex. Often the longest scan of the pregnancy.

Week 24–28

Glucose challenge test

One-hour screening for gestational diabetes. If results come back high, a longer three-hour follow-up may be ordered.

Week 27–36

TDAP vaccine

Recommended every pregnancy to pass whooping cough protection to baby in their first months.

Third Trimester · Weeks 28–40+

Week 28

Bi-weekly visits begin

Prenatal appointments shift from monthly to every two weeks. RhoGAM shot if you are Rh-negative.

Week 32–34

Pack your hospital bag

Finalize birth preferences, postpartum plans, and what you'd like to have nearby during labor.

Week 35–37

Group B Strep (GBS) swab

Quick vaginal/rectal swab. If positive, antibiotics during labor protect baby — a routine, manageable step.

Week 36

Weekly visits begin

Closer monitoring as you approach full term — blood pressure, baby's position, and how you're feeling.

Week 37

Full term

Baby is considered full term and welcome any time from here on. A good moment to rest as much as you can.

Week 40

Estimated due date

A guess date, not a deadline. Most babies arrive within two weeks before or after.

Week 40+

Post-dates monitoring

Non-stress tests and conversations with your provider about gentle ways to encourage labor, if needed.
